What is Advanced Technical Diving?
Advanced Technical diving includes any level of technical diving (Diving using Decompression and Mixed gas beyond the limits of recreational Sports diving).
To obtain an Advanced Technical level certification you will be asked to prove/demonstrate both theory and practical abilities beyond the scope of technical diving to an Advanced level and to International standards.

About Advanced Technical Diver
Our Advanced Technical Diver Certification has two award levels...
1. Completion of an Advanced Technical Diving Program or Course with an ITDA Group authorized Advanced Technical Instructor or Higher rating...
Advanced ITDA Technical Diving programs include:
- Advanced ITDA Ntech Diver (Decompression on Nitrox & Oxygen after diving beyond 50m/165ft.)
- Advanced ITDA Decompression Diver (Having completed dives to 60m/200ft) - Advanced Deep Diver is equal to this level.
- Advanced ITDA Trimix Diver (Having completed safe training dives to a minimum depth of 70m)
- Advanced ITDA Wreck Diver
- Advanced ITDA Cave Diver
- Advanced CCR Rebreather Diver
- Professional Rescue Diver (having completed Wreck, Cave and Deep Rescue, Search and Recovery, to 60m/200ft and used decompression techniques and procedures.)
All of these above levels are "Advanced Technical Diver ratings
2. Meet our very strict experience and pre-qualification for an administrative award of the the ITDA Group Advanced Technical Diver Certification.
You will need to clearly demonstrate skills and abilities and experience equal to or higher than any of our advanced core diving technical certification programs as in the list above... Exceptions would be experienced Salvage and Saturation divers who have or wish to take technical certifications? Commercial and Military divers are both accepted.

ITDA Group Advanced Technical Diver Certification
Pre Requisites/Qualifications:
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must have a minimum of 100+ Dives Experience
- You must have CPR First Aid & Oxygen Provider or take the IHMP Dive Medic Course
- You will need to be a minimum of Sports Rescue Diver or Equal level
- You will need to be a technical diver (Any Agency) and must have: Decompression Experience, Deep Air and Nitorx Ntech (Not Sports Nitrox) or Trimix, Cave, Deep Air or be a CCR Rebreather Diver . See: ITDA Group Technical Diver Program
You may now enter the ITDA Group Advanced Technical Diver Certification Program:
Course Program Overview:
Core Theory Lessons and Training Sessions
- Time Scale: 4 to 5 Days
- Minimum Dives: 10 Dives Required (3 per day max)
- Theory: Advanced Decompression and Advanced Dive Planning, Gas Management, Equipment Configuration, Advanced Rescue and Dive Accident Management - AED First Aid or Advanced Life Support.
- Dive Training: 2 Warm up dives as assessment and evaluation of diving skills, with problems and safety / rescue drills. Minimum depth 40m.132ft.
- 4 Dives with specialist skills or equipment to a depth of 50m/165ft. with deco stops and gas planning and switching, minimum of 3 mixes...
- 2 Dives below 50m/165ft. to be planned and agreed by buddy pairs... Instructor is hands off "Supervision Only".
- 2 Dives as deep rescue and final skills evaluation and assessment for graduation standards...
Note: This truly is an advanced technical course program and safety has to be our first priority. Divers Must produce a medical Fitness to Dive Statement from a Doctor (Knowledgeable in Hyperbaric Medicine, doctors or Medics may NOT self-certify) prior to receiving any in-water instruction for this level of training.
