 Why?

Why? Occupational Diving...

Simply because the skills and safety drills used in recreational diving standards are NOT adequate for working divers.

This is mainly due to the fact that that divers at "Work" are at much higher risks than those engaged in recreational activities.

  How?

How can I become an Occupational Diver?

You will need to be at least equal to an ITDA Group Rescue or Advanced Diver, or PADI Dive Master or Master Diver. Or equal level from any agency... You can then apply for training at one of our associate , approved training establishments available from: admin@itdahost.com

 How Much?

How much does it cost?

The costs are really up to you! As with our unique system you can begin for a small investment of just $2000 to $3000 USD up to $20,000 USD and you can upgrade your certification levels in small steps and manage the costs based on your working requirements.

In some Countries Government Funding is available.

We also operate with training facilities in Asia and low cost countries to reduce overheads on living expenses.

   Occupational Diving

Working Divers and Divers "AT" Work

Occupational Diving covers any diving activities where a person is considered at work or employed in diving activities. Many divers with Sports Certifications are actually breaking the law in many Countries as they are not engaged in sports or recreational diving but deemed in some Countries to be "Commercial Diving"... This may seem confusing so we offer a definition below:

Any aspect of diving operations not directly associated with recreational diving, as Sports or Technical Diving activities and where divers are paid for services as income or in kind, is generally considered to be "AT WORK" Diving and therefore "Occupational".

Occupational Diving is defined as in-Land or In-Shore, diving for paid employment or personal gain. Commercial diving is also In-Land and In-Shore but also Offshore... Both In-Land and In-Shore Divers are required to meet international standards for Commercial diving Operations even though diving tasks can often fall into both categories of Occupational and Commercial Diving.  Technically ONLY "Commercial Diving" Refers to "OFF-SHORE DIVING".
