EMT Why?
For many diving professionals opportunities exist to market and sell First Aid training...
For the majority of Diving Professionals especially ITDA Group Instructors teaching our Dive Medic Programs the EMT Training wuld be both a natural progression and also a very valuable training experience and qualification. As it add a great deal of weight and respect to your professional status and you will learn many new things... Plus of course the next step which is DMT and then DMT Trainer.
Money?
EMT Training is really expensive?
This is NOT always true there are many places around the World that offer very high quality and relatively low costs... For example Malaysia and Singapore... Plus it is not the cost today but an investment in your future!

IHMP EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
Traditionaly EMT's are the personell you are used to seeing in Abulances and are normally the medical team first to arrive at an accident scence. They are also referred to in some Countries as First Responders.
About EMT Training
The Training and Certification process for EMT's does vary slightly around the world and from Country to Country but in general there are a number of Internationally accepted standards. We use the standards required for registration with the AREMT Austrailian Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. This organisation is recognised and accepted in the majority of Countries and regions including: UK, Germany (Most of EU) Middle East. Asia and Souh America.

ITDA-IHMP Have enjoyed a long relationship with AREMT and we are developing new programs in 2012... For EMT and DMT Training and International certification.
Who Can Certify?
Only ITDA-IHMP DMT Trainers
At the present time ONLY ITDA-IHMP DMT (Dive Medic Technician) Trainers (registered with AREMT) can train and certify EMT Ratings for ITDA-IHMP.... We are looking at developing a program in 2012 for EMT Trainers and we have EMT Trainers available in Singapore (For National Standards and EMT (AREMT).
ITDA-IHMP Certifications are Issued ONLY by ITDA Group International HQ and they must be registered with AREMT by the EMT's.
EMT to DMT?
DMT - Dive Medic Technician
To obtain an IHMP DMT Rating to be registered with AREMT you MUST First be a Registered EMT. EMT-B can become a DMT. But EMT-I (Intermediate) will find it easier.
To become a DMT the EMT Needs to attend a Medical Hyerbaric Chamber (Multi-Lock/Multi-Place) Operations Course Program approved by ITDA Group HQ. The DMT will also in addition need to be a leadership level Diver or an Instructor (Any Agency) and must pass the ITDA-IHMP Decompression theory and Dive Accident exams.
