Advanced Rescue Diver
About Advanced Rescue Diver
Advanced Rescue Diver is about taking rescue diving to a whole new and exciting level, with new challenges in Environments, Depth and Equipment... Not to mention the complex training scenarios we have include:
Advanced Rescue Program
Entry to this level program is restricted to only those with previous rescue diver training... Any Agency Rescue Diver or Above - ITDA Sports Rescue and Rescue Diver and ITDA-IHMP Aqautic Rescue, graduates... And ITDA Occupational and Public Safety Divers...
The course program is a minimum of 4-5 days, and can be flexible in theory being a combination of: Self-Study / web-Internet or Classroom... But there will be a quiz of 50 Questions prior to any in-water training and the pass rate is 85%...
Academic Study / Theory Will include:
- Most Common Diving Accidents Cause & Treatment
- Dive Accidents Study and Prevention
- Diving Physics and Environmental factors
- Diving Physiology and Barotrauma
- Accident Management & Primary Care
- Oxygen & AED First Aid with CPR Review (Classroom)
- Rescue Skills and types of Evacuation Procedures
- Instructions to pre-hospital EMT's or transport personnel
- Review and study of Real Life Rescue - Cave Rescue
- Risk Assessments and Diving Safety
- Applied Rescue Theory
Practical Skills & Training Assessments will include:
- Pre Dive Safety Drills & Briefings
- Dive Rescue Planning & Coordination with emergency services personnel
- Rapid response drills for immediate rescue (Surface Skills) and managing resources
- Search and Recovery of Missing dive group
- Search and recovery using mapping techniques for a lone diver
- Decompression Illness at surface and on a diver ascent
- Convulsions for Mixed gas divers at depth
- Convulsions at the surface
- Barotrauma at the surface
- EAR (Expired Air Resuscitation - with Pocket mask)
- Panicked Diver Ascent and at Surface
- Non Breathing Ascent & SCA Sudden Cardiac Arrest on Surface
- Evacuations and Handover to Pre-Hospital Personnel
- Reports and Accident Administration
Who can Certify this Level?
Because of the Advanced Nature of this program Only ITDA Group Advanced Instructors may training and Certify and Renew this level...
ITDA Sports instructors may attend an upgrade program with an ITDA Group Trainer or Course director to complete their "Advanced Instructor" Level training and certification. Just 3-4 days and you can become an Advanced Instructor... See ITDA Advanced Instructor page..
