We created our unique "Star System to define diver training and certification outside of the Resort Environment and to identify diver training that requires extra dedication and higher skills levels and higher experience level then those from other agencies.

 Why 2 Star?

Why a different rating for Cold Water?

Simply because COLD water hold many more potential hazards for diver as a hostile environment.

Also because the skills normally learned in typical "Open Water Diving" are not adequate or safe for COLD Water diving. So we have introduced a Safe Cold Water Training and certification system that is different from others.

We offer more training dives and more theory and extended skills, to produce a "Competent Safe",diver with more training and experience.

We offer a next step and upgrade path to our unique Sports Diver 3*** Star Cold Water Diver or you may progress directly to our Rescue Diver Level.

  2**Star Cold Water & Club Diver Programs

(Entry Level Diver Programs)

 

ITDA Group are one of the few agencies who offer different entry level diver training (No Previous diving experience required) for

Cold Water below 15c with dry suit training, limited visibility and hazards associated with this unique environment,

plus decompression theory and CPR Training.

Four (4) Confined Water Training sessions and Six (6) Open Water Training dives are required under our New Standards from Sept 1st. 2011

 

The ITDA 2**Star Diver & 2** Club Diver Diver - Cold Water Program consists of:

  • 4 Pool or Confined Water Training Sessions
  • 6x Open Water Dives with 2 dives to 20m/66ft. In Limited visibility.
  • Cold Water Diver Specialist Training / Environmental Hazards
  • Correct use of a Dry Suit: skills and self rescue drills
  • Neoprene & Membrane Suits
  • Under Suits / Woolly Bears
  • Accidents & Emergencies + Dry Suit Rescue Skills Self and Buddy
  • Limited Visibility - Includes: Navigation, Natural & Compass Use, Line signals. + Search & Rescue Skills

The Training materials for 2**Star Diver may also be used for our Cold Water "Dry Suit" Specialist Diver rating and also in our ICE Diver programs.

 

 2**Star Diver

 There are many benefits to completing training at this level with us... Including:

ITDA 2**Star Divers may dive in resort environments but ITDA Resort or any other agencies Open Water trained divers (Warm Water Diver) should not dive in cold water environments, without the proper training and equipment. As serious injury or death may occur...

We strongly advise Resort or Open Water Divers who trained in resort environments or water above 15c.To take our 2**Star Diver upgrade program...

There some very unique specialist diver programs that are ONLY associated with Cold Water:

  • Rivers/Inlets/Fjords 
  • Fresh Water Lakes
  • Altitude Diving
