  In the Beginning:

  A brief History of the ITDA Group International from 1999 to 2011 

We are a British owned business with registered offices in: Hong Kong, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Europe....

The ITDA (International Technical Diving Agency) were formed because a number of very senior diving educators became disillusioned with the actual level of standards being used and the level of practical skills training and education theory in the Industry with most agencies teaching fast track and practically giving away certifications.

Diving as a sport is a safe and fun recreational activity, however as with many sports there exist elements of risk, and with diving the greatest risks are a lack of awareness of the risks themselves and a general lack of experience from Entry Level Divers.

The majority of agencies are Ignoring the risks to entry level diving students by avoiding teaching decompression theory training. So we set about creating an agency based on the best available International standards and developing our own unique standards in line with UK HSE (UK Government Health & Safety Executive) and exceeding those of other agencies and the new ISO... Standards (Which many people misunderstand) The ISO (International Standards Organization) Standards are only based on Industry minimum standards and are not enforceable by any laws...  The UK HSE Standards are enforceable by law and are governed by UK legislation.

Many Countries are now developing their own national standards and some are adopting the ISO Standards, the fact still remains that there does not at present exist a body to agree and work with all of the different standards and national, and international bodies and in many Countries there remain no standards at all...  See Compare ITDA

 The Growing Years:

From our very humble beginnings with the conception of the business having evolved in Florida USA in 1999 and the formation a UK/Euro Business as the ETDA European Technical Diving Agency Ltd. to becoming operational in the Canary Islands from 2002 as ITDA Group International SCP.

And then moving the business back to a UK base in 2004 to expand European Operations and obtain UK HSE Approval for our standards, we formed the International Technical Diving Agency (ITDA UK) Ltd as our operating business and this was our first real milestone, in obtaining UK HSE approvals for our standards in 2005 and then winning a UK Business award in 2007 for our safety standards,

 Steve has lived, worked and dived as a professional in: Florida USA, with Ocean Divers Inc. - Bahamas, with Stuart Cove "Dive South Ocean". - Dominican Republic with Scuba Carribe. - Cayman Islands, Little Cayman and the Brac, with Little Cayman Diver II. Live aboard. - Lanzarote with Safari Diving, and Gran Canaria with Top Diving and Scuba Sur. - UK with ETDA and ITDA UK. - Egypt Red Sea, with Magic Divers Sharm El Sheikh and ITDA Middle East. Malaysia, with Scuba-naut, Tioman Island.... Also Malta, France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey, Cuba, Belize and South Africa...  Steve has a background in Military Training, Sales and Marketing Management (computer Industry), Teaching and Lecturering in Colleges and Universities (Computer Science, Marketing, Business Management and English). Academic achievements include: Computer Science, Medicine, Psychology and Teaching.

After the world financial crisis in 2008, we closed the UK ITDA operations and Merged with the newly formed "ITDA Europe Ltd." And in 2009 we moved our HQ administration to Malaysia (to cut our international operating expenses by 70%+) and from then we have experienced rapidly growing business in Asia and across the World...

So to support this new global business development we formed the "ITDA Group International Inc. Ltd". in 2010 as an IBC (International Business Corporation)and incorporated our international global business into regional and Country businesses with International support from the group Company, and in 2011 we have reformed the UK ITDA "International Technical Diving Agency Ltd." To continue standards development work in the UK and to develop business with ITDA Europe Ltd.. See ITDA Group International
