About / Summary: 

Experience Scuba and Day Courses are a well known and accepted way that the majority of people are introduced to Scuba Diving and in most cases you may pay from 60+ euros to $120 USD+ or more... For the experience! 

And in most agencies this is NOT recognised as a certification level... However the ITDA has introduced a program at both these levels to both meet your expectations of maximum scuba fun and excellent value for money as we offer these levels as limited / restricted certification levels... 1. Experience Program

This is a basic course with 30min to 45mins preparation time with a presentation on "Scuba Diving Safety, How the equipment works, hazards and risks, an ITDA Workbook is available and is included as e-materials with our certification fee and our e-certification is also included. Plus a minimum of 1 scuba dive for around 30 minutes to a maximum depth of 12m/40ft. Time scale from 3-4 hours. 1/2 Day.

 

2. Day Courses (Includes; Scuba and Snorkelling Skills development)

A fantastic fun opportunity to learn how to, and practice (Under professional Supervision) Snorkelling skills, with Mask, Snorkel and fins... The program will include based on local environment factors an hour (50-60 mins) of snorkelling with skills and exercises. nemo

3. Introduction to Scuba Divingfish

The basic scuba course with 30 min to 45 ins briefing / preparation time with a presentation on "Scuba Diving Safely", How the equipment works, hazards and risks, basic skills an ITDA Workbook is available and is included as e-materials with our certification fee and our e-certification is also included.

Plus a minimum of 2 scuba dives, each for around 20 to 30 minutes to a maximum depth of 12m/40ft. 1/2 Day 4 hours.

 

Pre requisites or Experience required to Entry this level?

None - No previous experience required but MUST be able to swim and generally be comfortable in the water...

poolMinimum Age? / Supervision Ratios?

12 years, Note a junior diver rating is applied to under 15 year olds... Plus for pool only with additional restrictions the minimum age can be 10 years. 

 Supervision is 4:1 plus an additional 2 students maybe added for each supervisor under direct instructor supervision to 2:1 for each supervisor... 

Maximum for 3 supervisors (leaders) and 1 Instructor, with a surface support diver is 10 students (4 for Instructor and 2 for each supervisor 2x3 = 6 total +4 = 10 students)

 

Fitness Level Required and Swimming Skills Required?turtle

A basic level of fitness is required and each student MUST be able and comfortable swimming a minimum of 25m / 25 yards...  Each student MUST be able to carry their own equipment unless disabled?  Special Child equipment may be used for Junior ratings...

Anyone taking this program will enjoy maximum fun and safety, exploring the underwater world under professional supervision. The most important benefit is the limited certification you will qualify for and the choice to upgrade within two years to a full Scuba Open Water Diver certification. coldMinimum Skills Development Level

Introduction to Buoyancy Control (Fin pivot with supervisor assistance as necessary), Mask Clearing, Regulator Clearing, position underwater and swimming underwater, emergency procedures, Inflation of BCD at the surface... 

Weighting will be managed by staff... Pre Dive Checks may be included in training as time allows... All students will be checked in water by staff before regulator breathing skills are practiced...

You will need to ask your instructor about our unique level 1 specialist diver certifications as an Introduction to the subject matter like;  Underwater Photography / Video (If the Centre hires or sells UW Cameras or video) / Shallow Wreck Diver, Buoyancy and Gas Management,  these levels require only one to two dives for an entry level certification...  You may also ask your instructor about IHMP First Aid training and get certified in CPR First Aid, BLS Basic Life Support or First Responder / Diving First Aid...

Who can train and certify at this level?

ITDA Dive Leaders with an Assessor rating or ITDA support professional level, may train and co-certify these levels under the direct supervision of an ITDA Instructor.

Non-ITDA Leadership Levels (Certified as ITDA Entry Level or Club Instructors and/or any Agency Open Water Instructor may also apply to ITDA HQ for authority to train and certify divers at this level.
